The DissertationMy discussion is centred around the convergence of the book and video game trade.
I want to explore the history behind the industries and where the future may be going for them, together. More specifically I want to target the SFF markets (Science Fiction & Fantasy) because I believe - along with my sterling research to back me up - that this is where the collaboration/convergence potential is at its strongest. |
The CoursePublishing at Oxford Brookes (in my humble opinion) is absolutely fantastic.
I've done essays on Star Trek, pitched a travel guide to the moon and created Tinder profiles for Lord Byron and his publisher (John Murray). The creativity and freedom within the department makes for a great learning environment. |
The Author (...continued)You can't see my room but it sums me up pretty well.
There are books everywhere - the bookcase is overflowing, the desk is groaning and I'm using the big 'uns as a bedside table. My X-Box 360 (I'm a student so the X-Box One will have to wait) lies with it's games - Dragon Age, Skyrim, Dark Souls (you get the picture) - neatly beside my Tomb Raider collection (even though my PS1 is broken under my bed somewhere). And there's James Bond/ Star Trek posters upon my walls. |
