My adventures and thoughts on the 2015 British Book Design & Production Awards...
Hello there!
Time is flying and deadlines are looming and I have been more than a little under the weather. I had planned to post this last week but germs make bed-bound, sneezing wimps of us all. So, if you could help a poor student out and fill out this short survey I would be eternally grateful! Hope you are all well and taking your vitamin C tablets. Sorry about the delay there folks, apparently the final year of your degree leaves you approximately no time for dilly-dallying. Ergo, here I am sat at my desk at 1am on a Tuesday morning thinking deep thoughts and freaking out about my commitment levels to this blog. So - without further ado (or waffling) here is part deux (I watched Hot Shots! the other day, sorry) of my adventure at Comic Con: money, merchandise and fandom. This is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down - I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I had to go to MCM London Comic Con for dissertation purposes… But before we get down to it, a quick note: This is the first part of my Comic Con story, it’s probably going to have 3 separate posts because there is SO MUCH to talk about. This one is going to discuss publishers (or lack thereof…) at the convention. Please excuse the picture quality - they were taken on my phone and sometimes I was too excited to focus properly…
The current, basic form of my dissertation revolves around the convergences of the book publishing and game publishing trades - and is super vague, I am aware.
This blog will hopefully help me shape my thoughts and any comments are heartily welcomed! (Title and image are from/of Navi - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.) |
